Privacy policy
Last updated 2025-12-13
upload-images.org lets anyone drop screenshots without creating an account. Transparency about what we collect matters, especially because uploads can contain sensitive visuals. This policy explains how we process data so you can share responsibly.
What we collect
- Screenshot files: Stored under our secure uploads directory until the expiry that you set or until an admin removes them.
- Metadata: Original file name, MIME type, file size, generated share link, and timestamps for upload/expiry.
- IP addresses: We log the uploader IP plus every visitor IP that opens a share link or public route. These records are required for moderation and abuse prevention.
- Site telemetry: Basic path + IP logs (no cookies, no third-party analytics) so we can detect suspicious activity.
How we use the data
- Serve the screenshot you uploaded and allow you to adjust its expiry.
- Moderate abuse, spam, and copyright takedowns through the admin panel.
- Run automated cleanup jobs that delete expired screenshots and their visit logs.
- Respond to lawful requests from authorities when required.
Retention
Screenshots automatically delete when they expire. Visit logs tied to a screenshot are removed at the same time. Site-wide visit logs stay for up to 30 days so we can investigate abuse trends.
Your choices
- Set a shorter expiry immediately after uploading.
- Delete a screenshot sooner by contacting [email protected] with the share link.
- Stop sharing the public link; once no one visits, the file will self-expire on schedule.
Third parties
We do not run ads or share data with marketers. Files are kept on the same server that powers the site. Standard infrastructure providers (hosting, networking, email) may process data only to deliver the service.
